I always thought this was one of Reaper’s more popular model, because it’s so classic DnD. It’s also fantastically sculpted at 25mm and is a very simple, elegant figure. I see a lot of talented painters picking this one up and doing awesome things with him. I, however, went the typical wizard route with a grey and blue color scheme. I added some resin crystals and pebbles for the base, just keeping it simple since this wasn’t a mini I want to do anything too serious with.
The freehand took such a long time, only to be washed over later on. It was cool to do though and I would probably do more in the future. I took bits and pieces from damask fabrics to make the different “columns” on the cloak. I also used oil paint to make cloth textures to give it a more realistic touch.
I can’t wait till my busts come in, I really want to try oil on a bigger canvas! Anyway, running on 1 hour of sleep (don’t ask, my sleeping pattern is really weird) so I’m going to keep this short. Hope you guys like him! I may update this post later to include his etsy link:)
